Magnitude 6.4-earthquake hits devastated Turkey, Syria
In areas of Turkey that were devastated two weeks ago by a major earthquake that killed tens of thousands of people, a second 6.4 magnitude earthquake on Monday claimed the lives of three people and injured more than 200. Authorities reported that several individuals were hurt in both Turkey and Syria as a result of further buildings collapsing and trapping residents.

One of the hardest-hit areas in the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck on February 6 was the town of Defne in Turkey’s Hatay province, which is where Monday’s earthquake was centered. It was followed by a second, magnitude 5.8 temblor, which was felt as far away as Egypt, Cyprus, Israel, Syria, Jordan, and Cyprus.
